We have spent a little less time focusing on kata this week in our junior and adult classes, as we wanted to spend a little time introducing our juniors and high grades to Nunchaku in a safe and controlled way. We took the decision during the Christmas break that we wanted to to occasionally be able to let our students get a feel of traditionally weaponary as it is a great way not only to help improve co-ordination but also to bring a new prospective to the martial arts. We decided foam Nunchaku would be a great option for our students.

Our members are also able to attend for a small additional fee some very special traditional weapon workshops. These workshops are taught by very experienced and qualified weaponry experts who can teach everything from the history of the weapons to their proper usage. Students that attend these workshops will take a grading at the end of the workshop.

Students had lots of fun this week with the Nunchaku and did amazingly well the the limited amount of time we had getting a feel for them and some students showed a natural flaire for these tricky weapons. Well done to everybody we saw some great promise with the Nunchaku.
