Your favourite Martial Art and why?
Karate, because I love how technical and precise each move is. I like how it teaches you discipline and respect.
How did you get into martial arts?
I was 5 years old and wanted to find a club to become more active and I wanted to make more friends. Martial arts seemed a great way of doing this.
What is it about Martial Arts that you enjoy?
That it is so technical and active, and that there is always room for improvement no matter your grade. I also love the competitive side of martial arts, especially when it comes to sparring and tournaments. I love testing myself against people I don’t know in tournament.
How do you think Martial Arts have helped you outside of the academy?
Yes, it has helped me in many ways, one being that it has really boosted my confidence, it has also shown me how to persevere and not to give up.
What would you say to somebody that had thought about joining us but was worried about their age, fitness or just felt too self-conscious to join?
Age or fitness could not matter any less. It doesn’t matter how young or old you are or your level of fitness, everyone at Chuldow is extremely welcoming and accepting. Why not book a free trial and find out for yourself?
What do you enjoy about being an instructor with Chuldow?
That it has given me so many life opportunities and experiences. And I love to teach different people and to be a part of their Chuldow journey. I love seeing students come back from graduation with a new belt and thinking I have helped them a little bit.
As a Martial Arts Instructor what do you want to achieve in the next 5 years?
I would love to see current lower grade students come into class with a black belt on. I would also like to start kickboxing at some point so I could instruct in a different area to karate.
