Back in January we lost one of our high grade students, not because he quit but because he was no longer able to attend our academy on time due to a change in personal circumstances. Luckily another academy opened up closer to where he lived which meant he could continue his martial arts journey and work towards his 1st Dan.
Last week I was contacted by his new instructor letting me know that today he would be graduating and being assessed for his black belt. I was also asked if I would like to attend the graduation, and present him with his black belt and tie it around his waist.
How could I refuse? I was honoured to be thought of.
Alfie worked extremely hard in his graduation. He did me, his parents and new instructors proud. If you are reading this Alfie, I am so incredibly proud of you and your achievement and so very grateful to Mr and Mrs Queen from Chuldow Wrenthorp for inviting me to his graduation and giving me the honour of presenting you with your belt. I am also grateful for the outstanding tuition they have provided you with to help you reach this goal.
I would also like to congratulate Mr Queen who also graded today and achieved his 4th dan. Well done Sir.
